Recovery Programs
Primary Treatment Program
Our belief is that alcoholism and drug addiction are chronic and progressive diseases which demand dedication to a simple set of practices and principles, through which we can experience permanent recovery. Our primary treatment program is your first step to that recovery. For the first 60 days, you will be at our Knight House and Gateway house, both located on Knight Street. You will be introduced to the 12 step model of recovery through groups, workshops, and one-on-one sessions with our trained councilors focused on aspects of this process including but not limited to:
-
Big Book Study
-
Relapse Prevention
-
Meditation
-
Life Skills
-
Wellness Workshops
-
Exercise Program
Our clients get to experience recovery outside of our home by attending meetings of their choice, as well as outings, and exercise activities facilitated by trained staff members. Contrary to the practice of isolation commonly required by other recovery programs, we believe that communication is an integral piece of a successful recovery foundation, which is why we allow clients to keep their phones with them throughout their treatment. The intention is that everyone can call sponsors and family either using their own phone, or our dedicated client landline. Cutting off these support systems further contributes to long-term suffering. Our houses all have complimentary high speed Wi-Fi, allowing clients to relax and browse or stream in their free time.
After successfully completing our Primary Program. We can look at moving you to a second stage house where you can build upon that foundation. We work with each of our clients to design an individualized program which can include a 'back to work' plan if that is required. Clients are expected to attend three meetings a week, and attend all required groups and workshops as specified in your plan.
Music / Band Program
At Giving Back Society, we believe in the transformative power of music. Our dedicated music program offers a vibrant space for individuals to discover, explore, and express their musical talents, regardless of their experience level. Whether you're a beginner eager to learn or a seasoned professional, our program provides a supportive environment for all.
Our band space is fully equipped with instruments and gear, from guitars to drums, keyboards to microphones, we have everything you need to dive into the world of music. Our goal is to remove any barriers to musical expression, making it accessible to everyone who walks through our doors.
No prior experience is required to participate in our music program. We welcome individuals with open arms, offering guidance and support every step of the way. Our passionate instructors are committed to helping you develop your skills, whether you're learning to play an instrument, refining your vocals, or exploring the art of songwriting.
For those who already possess musical expertise, our program provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate with like-minded musicians. Join forces, share your knowledge, and create mesmerizing compositions together. The supportive community at Giving Back Society fosters connections and encourages growth, allowing you to thrive in your musical journey.
Beyond the joy of making music, our program offers numerous benefits for individuals in recovery. Music has the power to uplift spirits, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. It serves as a creative outlet, enabling self-expression and providing a positive focus during the recovery process. Engaging in our music program can bring a sense of purpose, confidence, and fulfillment to individuals seeking to rebuild their lives.
When I came to Giving Back Society I was lost and broken. I didn't know where to go in life. I was using drugs daily and was in and out of jail or institutions. I was at my wits end. Ray Jay and the staff at Giving Back welcomed me with open arms. While I was at there I completed the program and the guys at Giving back helped me get through it. Along the way I met some good friends and I realized that this was my home. I've had a lot of ups and downs in my recovery, but thanks to Giving Back, I have remained sober for five years. The Giving Back Society is much more than a recovery house or a treatment residence. t's a place that you can call home. I'm grateful that I found this place.. I couldn't have done gotten to where I am today without them.
